January 2010
Spring is still quite a few months away. This is the time of year when we do most of the work we bring to the Newport Farmers' Market.
We'll again be bringing spinning, weaving, and craft items. Our line of personal products (glycerin soaps and Bee Balm) will be expanded with the addition of an assortment of lip balms.
While it's still too early to list the starter plants we'll have, we're planning on some interesting tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and a wide assortment of cucumbers and related plants for pickling. "Mouse melons" especially, sounded like a fun new veggie to try.
The Market has moved to 240 N. Union Avenue near the new Pend Oreille Playhouse (formerly the Rural Resources building). Traditionally, the Market begins the first Saturday in May. Hours are 9am-1pm on Saturdays with lots of easy parking.
