With the addition of a new well, these seedlings were finally able to get the water they needed to bloom. Replanted in good soil, most bloomed in 2009 and the last 2 pictured bloomed in 2010.


One looks nearly identical to Shape Shifter and most of the rest have a similar coloration rather than that of the common I. pseudacorus grandparent. With species crosses, this is actually a good thing, especially in the early stages of developing a fertile hybrid line. The Siberian type had such a snakey stem that the bloom touched the ground. I'm still hoping to see the last surviving seedling bloom especially since it's stayed only about 6" tall.
A few of the seedlings from the first pseudacorus type kids are now putting up bloomstems. If anything interesting pops out, I'll post the photos HERE.
