Attention Poultry Exhibitors!

All poultry exhibits must be from flocks certified Avian Flu free. Please contact the County Extension Office for more information (447-2401).

All poultry exhibitors must comply with WSDA's Rules for Exotic Newcastle Disease (END) and Pollorum/Typhoid Disease. For information concerning END visit the Pend Oreille Country Fair website (END Fact Sheet) or contact the Poultry Superintendent.

Poultry & Game Bird Rules

  1. No poultry exhibit under 8 weeks old unless in the Cornish or fryer classes. These birds are classified by weight.
  2. All birds MUST be clean.
  3. A "pen" is three birds of the same sex and age. Birds must be of same breed.
  4. Market poultry can be different sexes.
  5. Up to three individual champion market poultry pens will be permitted to sell at the livestock auction. The judge will choose these pens.
  6. Birds shown in a trio pen cannot be shown as singles.
  7. Ratite exhibitors might need to bring own pens and shelter. Contact superintendents for information.
  8. Peafowl are included in the Pheasant division.
  9. Any edible egg is permitted in the Egg division.
  10. All youth must participate in Fitting and Showing listed in Department Q.

1. Educational Display Educational displays should be three-dimensional incorporating educational poster and other items (natural, fabricated or crafted) pertaining to the project. Display should be no larger than 30" X 30".
2. Educational Presentation Maximum 15 minutes, to be arranged with the superintendent.
