INDUSTRIAL CRAFTS - Open Class
(WOODWORKING, METALWORKING, EQUIPMENT INVENTORS CONTEST)

Department SY - Youth

WOODWORKING

  1. Items must have been completed since last fair and made by individual whose name is on the exhibitor’s tag. If youth, age of youth must also be noted on exhibitor’s tag. FFA projects may have up to three individuals names list in the exhibitor’s tag with their ages also listed.
  2. Exhibitors may make only one (1) entry in any one class - except as described below. Exhibitors are NOT limited only to entries as described in each division, but instead are encouraged to enter additional exhibits in their proper division under class listed “Other." More than one entry will be permitted in “Other” class as long as each entry is a different project and entered as a subclass. For example:

Class 12 - Other (pry bar)
Class 12a - Other (toolbox)

  1. All hanging items must be able to hang on a pegboard hook.
  2. Woodworking entries cannot be built with purchased pre-cut pieces and ready-to-assemble kits. However, some features may be prefabricated, such as turned pegs or wheels for toys. Movable parts must be securely attached to the base.

METALWORKING

  2. Superintendent may determine if an exhibit is to be entered as a “minor” or “major” project or as a convenience project.
  3. Exhibitors may make only one (1) entry in any one class - except as described below. Exhibitors are NOT limited only to entries as described in each division, but instead are encouraged to enter additional exhibits in their proper division under class listed “Other." More than one entry will be permitted in “Other” class as long as each entry is a different project and entered as a subclass. For example:

  2. Metal jewelry should be entered in the Arts & Crafts Department
