FLEECE

  1. Fleece must have been shorn this year and must not be more than one year's growth, except yearling fleeces.
  2. All wool fleeces must be properly skirted (all face, belly, leg and tag wool removed).
  3. Fleeces must be rolled flesh side out and displayed in a clear plastic bag. Fleeces will be unrolled for judging.
  4. Two fleeces may be entered in each class (i.e. 1a, 1b, 1c, etc.).
  5. Lamb fleece sheared from animal not more than one year old.
  6. Fleece entered in class 4 should be two ounces in a plastic container.

HANDSPUN FIBERS DIVISIONS 2802 through 2811:

  1. Two dissimilar items may be entered in each of the nine classes (i.e. 1a, 1b, 1c, etc.).
  2. Skeins should be 25 yards or weigh one to two ounces and be tied in four places using the same yarn.
    Relaxed Figure-8 tying is preferred.
  3. Beginning spinners enter ”NOVICE” on judging sheet (one year only).
  4. List fiber content on judging sheet. The more information the better (breed, etc.)
  5. Specify dye type and dyer (self, other, commercial).
  6. Specify if spun from commercial roving, carded or combed.
  7. Specify anticipated end use of yarn. The more information the better (woven, knit, etc. as well as item type).
  8. Use the following Class Numbers for all Handspun Divisions:
