DEMONSTRATIONS and/or PUBLIC SPEAKING open to 4-H enrollees only

  1. 4-H Club leaders will receive details of each contest prior to the event.
  2. It is recommended that County winners present their demonstrations at the Pend Oreille County Fair for experience and preparation for State Fair.
  3. Those contestants qualifying at County Demonstration Day for State Fair and who also give their demonstration at Pend Oreille County Fair will receive an extra 20 points premium money.
  4. A special ribbon will be awarded to all those who give their demonstration at the Pend Oreille County Fair. Please register at the 4-H information booth prior to Friday demonstration time.

FITTING and SHOWING - YOUTH ONLY

Any youth entering a livestock animal at the Fair MUST enter and participate in the appropriate showmanship contest. Youth showing a large livestock animals must show their own animal. Care and control rules apply.

All 4-H members shall be dressed in long sleeved white shirts, green tie, blue or black jeans. FFA members shall wear official dress. Open class exhibitors shall wear long sleeved shirts and blue or black jeans. Heavy leather boots or shoes are REQUIRED for all exhibitors.
 
DIVISION 1541 Open Class exhibitor 8 years of age and under Primary, 4-H, K through 2nd grade may not enter Classes 1-7 Large Farm Animals, except for Division 1541, Classes 1, 2, 3, except classes 1-4 Large Farm Animals Under 1 Year.
DIVISION 1542 Junior, age 8 or 3rd - 5th grade DIVISION 1543 Intermediate, 6th - 8th grade
DIVISION 1544
Senior, 9th - 12th grade DIVISION 1545 Large Animal Round Robin (40 points extra for each qualified participant) Classes 1-7.

Small Animal Round Robin (40 points extra for each qualified participant) Classes 8-12.

HERD IMPROVEMENT

The rules for this contest are

  1. Must be Dam and female offspring.
  2. Must be shown in previous classes.
  3. Improvement of offspring over parent will be basis of judging.
  4. Previous entry does not disqualify.
  5. All divisions will be closed three minutes after last gate call. No exceptions .
