Three 4-H Photography Special Award Rosettes by Kim Taylor

  1. Members may submit only one entry in each class for which they are eligible. Entries are limited to pictures taken during the current 4-H club year.
  2. All entries must be attached to poster board, matting or suitable substitute. Margins should not exceed 2 1/2 inches. Use dry mount tissue, photo glue, photo stickers or other suitable substitute to attach. Poster board covering must cover the back of the photo. Small, flat hangers that are properly and securely attached to extend above edge of the exhibit are acceptable.
  3. Attach a completed WSU label C0890 to bottom of photo as instructed on label. Fill out completely as instructed. An incomplete or missing label will result in loss of no more than one (1) ribbon placing at the judge's discretion. Note on bottom of label if SLR, film or digital camera.
  4. Digital photos must be on photo paper, no copy paper photos will be accepted. Digital photos are NOT enhanced.
  5. All blue-ribbon photos for Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors can be sent to State Fair. Check your State Fair Book for requirements.

  22. Theme Board - 3 to 6 phots depicting a specific theme. Title required; captions, poems or other written words optional; all photos to be mounted on one board. Each print 3 1/2X5 or larger up to 8X12 or 5X14. All photos must be taken by the same type of camera and printed by the same method.
  23. Tells a Story Photojournalism - 2 to 4 phots depicting a single newsworthy story; prints can be any size but total exhibit must not exceed 11X14", mounted on white matte board or white poster board. Caption should be mounted below the photos on the poster or matte board.
  24. Darkroom Skills - All entries in this class to include a 3X5 card defining chemicals, exposure and paper used
  25. Digitally Restored Photo - Scanned photo taken by film - not digital - camera. Original photo may have been taken by a person other than the exhibitor. The exhibitor will scan the item than repair the photo using modern day digitzing techniques. The original photo must have been damaged shomehow and an untouched copy of the original phto must accompany the entry. Print must be no smaller than 5X7 and no larger than 8X10. Include a 3X5 card explaining how the photo was restored and techniques used.
  26. Digitally Enhanced Photo - Single print enchanced or manipulated digitally. Print must be no smaller than 5X7 and no larger than 8X10. Image must be colorde corrected, minimally. Original untouched image, Digitally enhanced photo and a typed 3X5 index card explainin what was done to arrive at the final image must be mounted on the front of a display borad no larger than 14X22. Do not use a dry mount. Spray adhesive or adhesive mount only.
